The ‘Tokyo Ghoul S’ Trailer Previews the Live-Action Sequel’s First Two Minutes

html,body{height:100%}Japanese movie studio Shochiku has released a trailer for another live-action adaptation of Sui Ishida’s manga Tokyo Ghoul. Serving as the followup to the eponymous 2017 film, Tokyo Ghoul S will introduce fellow ghoul Shu Tsukiyama to the big screen. An official plot is yet to be released, but it’s highly possible that the sequel will heavily revolve around Ken Kaneki and Tsukiyama’s unsettling initial relationship.
The two-minute visual follows new character Margaret (portrayed by Japanese-Canadian model Maggy) around the streets of Tokyo. As she looks up at one of her billboards, it’s revealed that she possesses a set of mismatched colored eyes, hinting that she herself could be a human-ghoul hybrid like Kaneki. With a quick change in music, the opening credits begin rolling while clips from its predecessor are projected onto different city landscapes.
Masataka Kubota will be returning as Ken Kaneki along with Shunya Shiraishi as Nishiki Nishio, Kai Ogasawara as Hideyoshi ‘Hide’ Nagachika, Hiyori Sakurada as Hinami Fueguchi, Nobuyuki Suzuki as Kotaro Amon, Minosuke Bando as Uta, Kunio Murai as Yoshimura, and Shuntaro Yanagi as Renji Yomo. Shota Matsuda will be playing Shu Tsukiyama, while Maika Yamamoto will be replacing retired actress Fumika Shimizu as Toka Kirishima.
