Sonos has finally entered into the portable speaker market. The company announced the new Sonos Move, a $399 sleek oval shadow-black speaker that can connect to the already existing Sonos Wifi system, but also stream audio over Bluetooth for the first time.

When it comes to sound quality, Sonos continues to deliver industry-leading performance on the Move. The device is equipped with two Class-D amplifier and features Trueplay tuning technology with the introduction of automatic Trueplay where the speaker tunes itself to perfectly balance the sound for the environment.

The Move has an IP56 rating, meaning it’s built to be on-the-go with a waterproof, dustproof, and drop-proof body. The device can also get up to 10 hours of continuous play time with a removable battery, which can be swapped for something a bit more powerful.

The Move is available globally on Sonos.com alongside select retailers on September 24 for $399. Take a closer look at the speaker in the gallery above.
