Kevin Durant Will Miss Game 1 of NBA Finals Against Toronto Raptors Due to Injury

Golden State Warriors PF Kevin Durant is bowing out of Game 1 of the 2019 NBA Finals versus the Toronto Raptors. Head coach Steve Kerr confirmed his absence on May 27, saying that Durant has not received clearance to hit the court and the decision to fly him to Toronto for the first two games is yet to be decided.
KD is currently undergoing rehab for a calf injury he incurred on May 8. The MVP was seen limping off the court late in the third quarter of Game 5 of the Warriors-Rockets Semifinals bid. Kerr announced May 17 that while he has been making progress, the injury was more serious than they had anticipated. Durant himself shared an update on May 25, calling this calf injury “worse” than any he’s received in the past. So far, he’s missed the final game of the Rockets series plus the Warriors’ 4-0 sweep of the Portland Trail Blazers during the Western Conference Finals.
Stay tuned for more updates on Durant’s injury. The 2019 NBA Finals kick off May 30.
In case you missed it, Raptors fans flooded the streets of downtown Toronto after clinching their first ever NBA Finals bid.
