Kanye West is definitely not one to stick to old habits or follow tradition. The moment we get used to Sunday Service, Ye switches things up on us and brings the event to Salt Lake City… on a Saturday.
Today, Kanye is hosting another free and public service, this time in Utah’s capital. The religious concert will begin at the Gateway at noon, and is slotted between the first and second sessions of the Semi-Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
City Mayor Jackie Biskupski alluded to the event in a cryptic Tweet on Friday afternoon, before the news was confirmed.
.@DowntownSLC is going to be busy tomorrow morning & afternoon with General Conference, the March to End Child Abuse (City Hall to Capitol), and a potentially large event at the Gateway. Please use @RideUTA and avoid areas around these events. pic.twitter.com/kPEQe5Vkcs

Kanye’s musical worship, which initially started out as an exclusive service for celebrities in California, has quickly opened up to become a touring phenomenon, open to the public. Salt Lake City is the latest city to get the Sunday Service treatment, following Wyoming, Atlanta, and Chicago.
