Chelsea Goes Mod for 2019/20 Away Kits

After unveiling its Stamford Bridge-inspired Home kits for the upcoming Premier League 2019/20 season, Chelsea decided to go mod for its away set-up.The new clean Nike kits are inspired by the 1960s Mod culture, a culture which once thrived on the club’s doorstep of King’s Road, a short walk from Stamford Bridge. The polo jersey is predominately dressed in a white outfit while hits of blue and red trim both sleeves and the button-down neck collar. Two buttons at the neck inscribed with “The Pride of London” help to finish off the overall look of the kits along with a blue Swoosh insignia on the right chest and Chelsea’s club badge on the left.Additionally white shorts and Chelsea blue socks — boasting red and white strips at the midway point — will also be worn in the club’s away outfit. “The concept we came up with is a homage to the Mods of 1960s London and their sharp style,” says Pete Hoppins, Nike Football Apparel Senior Design Director. “It really comes together through this iconic white polo, finished off with red and blue stripes from Chelsea’s heritage. We feel this kit will make the players feel super sharp when playing on the road.”Interested fans can purchase Chelsea’s 2019/20 Away kits now over at select Nike retailers and nike.com.Chelsea legend Frank Lampard will help lead the team to its next chapter.
