Aston Martin is celebrating the 50th anniversary of classic James Bond movie On Her Majesty’s Secret Service with a special-edition DBS Superleggera. The model sports a unique olive green skin reminiscent of the 1969 Aston Martin DBS which starred in the film, as well as a number of unique design cues taken from the vintage motor.
The Secret Service package includes a custom grill with six horizontal blades and diamond-turned forged wheels that act as a homage to the wire-spun design of the late ’60s DBS. Aston Martin updates its 2019 DBS Superleggera with a lashing of carbon fiber accents, a new splitter and an aero blade, as well as swathing the interior in black leather and grey Alcantara with a red carbon fiber trim.
The limited-to-50 DBS Superleggera is a continuation from Aston Martin’s 007 homage series, which previously saw a Goldfinger DB5 edition of the 2015 DB9. As per usual, the Aston Martin comes equipped with a 715 BHP 5.2-litre V12, capable of 0-60 MPH in just 3.4 seconds. In case this rare edition wasn’t special enough, Aston Martin will also offer its lucky customers the opportunity to include a drinks cabinet to feature inside the car’s trunk, which will hold two bottles of champagne and four flutes.
For those looking to channel George Lazenby in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, head to your nearest Aston Martin dealership now to pre-order the DBS Superleggera for £300,007 GBP (approx. $380,000 USD).
In other news, the Formula One legend Niki Lauda has passed away at 70.
